Test Your Business Model Before You Build At Scale
ZA Technologies helps teams validate that customers will actually pay before spending a fortune on development. We design your revenue model, test pricing, validate problem-solution fit, and run a pilot program. You will know whether you have a business or a hobby by week three.
Business Model Validation Services We Offer
Every engagement is built around one core question: will customers pay for this? These six deliverables answer it with data, not guesses.
01.
Lean Canvas & Business Model Canvas
Facilitated workshop where we map your problem, solution, key metrics, unfair advantage, channels, revenue model, and cost structure on a single page. Reveals assumptions and forces hard conversations about your business logic.
- One-page business model
- Key assumptions named
- Testable hypotheses
02.
Revenue Model & Pricing Strategy
Design your revenue model (subscription, usage-based, licensing, marketplace) and price point based on customer research and comparable products. Includes price testing and packaging options.
- Revenue model design
- Pricing tier architecture
- Price testing variants
03.
Problem-Solution Fit Testing
Validate that your solution actually solves the problem better than existing alternatives. Interviews and analysis to confirm customers would switch. Identifies objections and must-have features.
- Problem-solution alignment
- Competitive positioning
- Objection documentation
04.
Landing Page & Smoke Tests
Build a landing page describing your solution and test pricing interest with paid ads. Smoke test tells you if people care enough to click, not just if they say they like it. Includes setup, ads, and analysis.
- Landing page copy
- Paid ad campaign
- Conversion and cost data
05.
Unit Economics & Financial Model
Build your financial model showing customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, and margin. Projects revenue and profitability over three years. Identifies breakeven point and shows if unit economics work.
- CAC and LTV calculation
- Margin and breakeven analysis
- Three year revenue projection

DIY Validation, MVP First, or Structured Business Model Validation
If you have clear problem-solution fit and paying customers, skip business model validation and build MVP. If you have an idea but no real customer feedback yet, DIY interviews are a start.
| Criteria | DIY Interviews (you) | Build MVP first | Structured Validation (ZA Tech) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Pre-idea validation | Proven problem-solution fit | Untested business model |
| Next step | Might still need business model work | Build more features | Pilot or MVP with confidence |

Business Model Validation FAQs
How much does business model validation cost?
How quickly can we get results?
What is Lean Canvas and how is it different from Business Model Canvas?
Do we need a pilot program or can we just test pricing with a landing page?
What is unit economics and why does it matter?
What if our unit economics are bad? Does that mean we should shut down?
Can we run a pilot program with just five customers or do we need more?
Five customers is a good start for learning qualitative insights and ironing out operational issues. If you need quantitative confidence (fifty percent of pilots will stay, lifetime value is X), you need 20 to 30 customers. Most validations do 10 to 20: enough to see patterns, not so many that you are overwhelming your team.
Should we charge for the pilot or make it free?
Test Your Business Model Before You Scale
Most failed startups did not fail because the product was bad. They failed because the business model was broken or the market did not care. Two to three weeks of validation costs a fraction of engineering spend and tells you before you hire that you have a real business. Test first, build second.
